In Memory of Nicholas Laratonda

October 26, 1954 – December 28, 2021

Nick Laratonda was the owner and creator of Super Tires and had been racing slot cars since the 1960’s.  In 1988, Nick turned his passion and hobby into a dream come true and opened up an H.O. Slot Car speedway where he had three tracks open to the public for people to race.  It was this speedway where he had the vision to make Super Tires.  He was a dedicated engineer to the sport.  He will be missed and we loved him dearly!

This is Nick’s grandson Cooper’s 600cc micro sprint where he races weekly in the open winged and wingless class at Limerock Speedway in Caledonia, New York.  This year his race car is dedicated to ‘Grandpa Nick’.  Growing up, Nick raced go karts and here on Cooper’s car features Nick in one of his victory lane pictures.

This picture is the beginning of Super Tires.  More info on the history page.

Saving the best for last.  This is Nick and Sandy.  Sandy has been everything to Super Tires, being my Dad’s right hand person in so many ways.  She and my father had been married since 2002.  From sending the packages to all you racers, corresponding with your emails, counting inventory, bagging tires and purchasing supplies, you name it she has been doing it!  Thank you Sandy for all that you have done and your dedication, Super Tires would not be what it is today without you.  We will make Dad proud!
